The world-famous South Korean girl group Blackpink is back with a new mini album titled “Deadline.” “Deadline” is the group’s third Korean Extended Play (EP). The EP was released on Feb. 27, 2026, by YG Entertainment. This is their first project in over three years following their second studio album, “Born Pink,” from 2022.
This mini album consists of five tracks titled “Jump,” “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.” The total length of the mini album is 14 minutes and 53 seconds. The track “Jump” was prereleased on July 11, 2025, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 28 on the US Billboard Hot 100. “Jump” is Blackpink’s third number-one song. The mini album is described as a celebration of the group’s career. I would describe most of the songs on this mini album as upbeat and short.
“Deadline” sold 1.46 million copies in its first day, breaking the record of highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group. The girl group also had a tour called The Deadline World Tour in Asia, Europe, and North America from July 5, 2025–Jan. 26, 2026, where they performed their song “Jump.” This was Blackpink’s first all-stadium tour.
The public reception of the EP is quite mixed. Critics from the Associated Press, All Music, and Rolling Stone rated “Deadline” four out of five stars. A critic from Pitchfork rated it at 5.7/10, and a critic from Slant rated it at two and a half stars. Some fans online have also said that “Deadline” was disappointing, noting that it was a change from their original sound. However, some supporters say they love the new EP, especially tracks “Jump” and “Go.” If you like high-energy club music songs, then I think you would enjoy Blackpink’s EP “Deadline.”
