Spotify Wrapped 2025 officially launched on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Every year, users of Spotify look forward to seeing the design each year. Spotify Wrapped is an annual recap highlighting users’ most played songs, artists, genres, and total listening time based off of streaming data. This feature is available yearly in the Spotify app and can be shared across social media platforms.
In this year’s Wrapped, users received colorful slides that showed their top five artists, favorite songs, and listening patterns throughout the year. Spotify also includes interactive elements such as listening personalities. This year it was “Listening Age” where they estimated your music taste’s age. Every year, they also create a playlist based on data collected from your listening in 2025 for every user.
Spotify Wrapped 2025 quickly became a major topic online, especially as users shared their top artists, songs, and listening hours with screenshots of their wrapped. Artists on Spotify also share their artists’ wraps from Spotify to show their fans. Typically, for a user within a certain top listener percentage of an artist will receive an “artist message” which is essentially a prefilmed video thanking their fans for listening.
Spotify also released global data showing overall listening trends showing that pop and hip hop remained amongst the most streamed genres. This also highlighted how podcasts and audiobooks grew in popularity in 2025.
Since this feature’s introduction in 2016, Spotify Wrapped has become more than just a feature. It’s become a yearly online event which many users anticipate, encouraging users to share and compare their results. Users also look forward to the new designs each year. They were not the first to start a “Wrapped” feature but they were definitely one to start a trend in them as YouTube in 2025 also launched their “YouTube Recap”. Spotify Wrapped shows how music connects people through online conversations.
